Chebeague Island Writer's Panel
I'm hosting the 1st annual Chebeague Island Happy Hour Writer's Talk August 7th - Join Us!!
Why am I hosting this writer's event in Maine, you ask? Why not?
I've been a writer for a long time. And I know even the best writers need support. Plus, they often work long hours, don't travel often for fun, and typically need more time in sublime locations within nature to relax, talk about ideas, and connect genuinely away from a computer.
So, if you're near, pop by! This Casco Bay Maine Island is gorgeous and you'll feel as if you're stepping back in time and a little off the grid. Plus, the author line up is amazing! You'll hear from a best selling author of suspenseful mystery series, an award-winning creator of Alaskan true-crime podcast, and learn about crafting and publishing family history that hits close to home. Check out our expert lineup:
AUTHORS:
Isaac Kestenbaum is the co-creator of Midnight Son, a true crime podcast set in the Alaskan Arctic. His work has been featured on Audible, ESPN, NPR, Vox, SIERRA Magazine, and more. He is co-founder of the audio production company Future Projects and the former Production Manager at StoryCorps. Isaac is also the Director of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies at MECA&D in Portland—a semester-long program offering graduate certificates in Radio & Podcasting, Writing, and Short Film. Learn more at www.salt.edu.
Patricia Crisafulli writes the wildly successful Ohnita Harbor Mystery series. The engaging author will read from the 2nd in the series: The Secrets of Still Waters Chasm and may give a sneak peek into her 3rd book that promises more surprising twists! An avid supporter of writers, Tricia is the founder of Faith Hope & Fiction magazine where she champions debut authors and writers of poetry, memoir, and essays. The former reporter has received awards for her novels and non-fiction books. To read more, go to: www.faithhopeandfiction.com.
Daniel Charles Flynn, PhD penned two ancestral books. His next “traces Irish ancestry and immigration to New York.” If you do genealogical research, you know it’s: A. hard to compile a compelling (and accurate) portrayal & B. it’s difficult to garner a publishing deal (and not self-publish.) Dan’s books outline his (and my) grandparents’ lineages. Our grands spent summers on Chebeague and hail from a long line of nutty and unsavory characters with links to The East India Trading Co. and history of Baltimore. The Ancestry of Elizabeth Cordelia Rider & The Ancestry of Cornelius Vanderbilt Roe are available at www.Heritagebooks.com.
